Ginkgo biloba/ Gingko/ イチョウ 銀杏
This plant is classified as a gymnosperm and is the most primitive of all seed-producing plants, sometimes referred to as a living fossil. Its yellow leaves in autumn are particularly beautiful. The fruit (kernel) is used as a food ingredient, but it contains a small amount of toxicity and can cause poisoning if eaten in excess, so care should be taken not to give it to children under the age of five.
Tokyo is now is one of the most dazzling and beautiful seasons.

Tokyo’s trees are clad in a variety of hues: red, purple, orange, yellow, and pale yellow, changing shades every day as the city prepares for the harsh winter.
They shine brightly in a purely Japanese garden or set against a backdrop of modern skyscrapers.
Enjoy a moment of autumn woven with the beautiful gradations of red and orange of Japanese maples, a representative form of autumn foliage in Japan, and the translucent yellow of Tokyo’s symbolic ginkgo trees.
